For Angela and Frank, their wedding wasn’t about putting on a big production. It was about bringing together the people they love and and giving everyone the chance to spend meaningful time together in one beautiful destination.
The couple, who live in Wellington, New Zealand, first contacted Phuket Romance in early 2025, giving themselves plenty of time to plan. After exploring a few venues, they chose Katathani Phuket for its relaxed beachfront setting because it was exactly the kind of atmosphere they were looking for.
Family and friends travelled from across New Zealand, Australia, UK and Ireland, making the wedding much more than a single day’s celebration. It became a chance for everyone to spend time together, meet for the first time, reconnect, and create memories before and after the wedding.
Their wedding took place in early April 2026, one of Thailand’s warmest months. Thanks to Katathani’s beachfront location, the sea breeze and sunset created a comfortable setting for the ceremony.
One of the sweetest moments of the day was watching Angela walk down the aisle with her father. At the end of the aisle, he placed her hand into Frank’s before quietly stepping aside. It was a simple moment that said so much, and the smile on Frank’s face made it even more special.
Family remained at the centre of the celebration throughout the day. Angela’s daughter stood proudly as one of her bridesmaids and later signed the marriage certificate as one of the witnesses. Frank’s brother was the second witness, making the moment especially meaningful. A framed photo of Frank’s parents on their wedding day was also placed on the signing table, a beautiful way to honour them. Having lost them at a young age, having his brother beside him made that part of the ceremony even more special.
Like many destination weddings, there were a few unexpected challenges along the way. Flight disruptions caused by the situation in the Middle East meant some guests travelling from Europe had to change their plans at the last minute, while others sadly couldn’t make the journey. Thankfully, with a little flexibility, the day came together beautifully.
After the wedding, Angela and Frank stayed on in Thailand, spending the rest of April travelling around the country and experiencing the Songkran festival as the perfect start to married life.
It was a joy to help Angela and Frank bring their vision to life. Their wedding was relaxed, heartfelt, and a wonderful reminder that the most memorable celebrations are often the ones centred around family, friends, and simply being together.
