Villa Amaravida sits on the beachfront on Phuket’s quieter east coast, inside the gated Cape Yamu estate, looking out over Phang Nga Bay. It’s an eight-bedroom villa that recently got a lot of attention as the Phuket filming location for “Gary’s House” in Season 3 of HBO’s The White Lotus. For a wedding, though, what stands out most is that it’s one of the very few villas in Phuket actually on the beach, and that it gives you almost too many places to hold a ceremony and reception.

You really are spoiled for choice here: an oceanfront garden lawn, the poolside by the 38-metre infinity pool, the open-air sala, the sea-view terraces, the rooftop bar, or the indoor salon if the weather turns. Our preference is a ceremony on the garden lawn, with the sea behind you, and the reception poolside as the sun goes down. The villa only opened up for weddings in 2026, and we were the first to do a wedding photoshoot here, together with Ricky Paul Flowers — so we’ve had the chance to walk the whole property and get to know how it actually works for a wedding day.

A day here flows nicely from one space to the next. Guests arrive across a walkway over water, you say your vows on the lawn, move up to the terrace or rooftop bar for sunset drinks, have dinner poolside or in the sala, and carry the party on into the living salon and games room later. And if you want a barefoot ceremony, the beach is right there below.

• It’s a White Lotus filming location – Amaravida was used for the interiors of Greg/Gary’s villa in Season 3 of HBO’s The White Lotus. It’s a fun talking point for guests, and the same architecture and sea views that worked on screen photograph beautifully on a wedding day.

Things to be aware of

• Parking is limited for a villa this size – The garage only fits three cars, which doesn’t go far for a full wedding. You’ll want to sort out shuttles or off-site parking with your planner ahead of time.
• Five levels and no lift – The villa steps down the hillside across five levels, all connected by stairs, with no elevator. That can be hard going for elderly guests or anyone with limited mobility, so it’s worth planning where things happen with that in mind.
